Dashain & Tihar 2081
2081-6-26: At first, I had planned to go to Itahari for the Dashain celebration. But it rained heavily just a week before. Landslides and floods damaged most of the roads. BP highway was also influenced badly. So I canceled my plan and celebrated this Dashain in Kathmandu as always.
I was with my siblings and relatives. This afternoon, we put Tika, went for a forest walk, and ate delicious food. It was a nice day 🙂
2081-7-18: I celebrated Tihar in Itahari. It was nice to be there after a long time. Of course, I made a beautiful Rangoli and did a photoshoot with lights.
During my Tihar vacation, I enjoyed every single moment by visiting the nearest beautiful places like Jogbani (Indo-Nepal border), Betana Wetland (Belbari), and Dharan (Budhasubba Temple, Pindeshwor Shiva Temple, Dantakali Temple, Bhanu Chowk).
One of my favorite parts of this visit was to hunt local street foods like Alu Nimki, Thukpa, Chatpate, Panipuri, Samosa Chaat, Samosa, Egg Roll, etc.
I went shopping at Jogbani. It was my first time on the Indo-Nepal border, so I was very excited. The clothes and grocery items were available at cheap prices. There was a huge crowd because of the festival season. So, it was so noisy. At the same time, the sound of the vehicle’s horn was irritating. Still, I enjoyed being in a new place.
Betana Wetland was a peaceful place. Green forests, ponds, and wetlands were the main attractions of this place. I also got an opportunity to observe the activities of deer, ducks, and different species of water birds.
